Using Your Serger, Intermediate Level - Thursday, Nov 27th - 10:30am to 4:00pm
We are pleased to have Judith Newman, local quilt and textile artist, teaching this intermediate class on sergers. Perhaps you've already taken the beginner serger class that we've offered, or you've had your serger a long time and only know the basics and are ready to dive into other features and techniques.
This class will review threading your serger and setting it up to do a rolled hem. It will also cover sewing large and small curves, sewing corners (both outside and inside), and playing with the differential feed to create gathers. And, test out all the stitches on your machine.
You'll be asked to bring your manual to class, as it is your best serger friend! You’ll want some solid fabric, some sheer or silk fabric, a sample of print fabric, and some elastic. All brands of sergers are welcome. A class list will be sent after registering for the class.
Instructor: Judith Newman
